About Us

After managing the family business through its sale, it was time to start something new. I began working with Ricky in 2010, in the new construction field, painting new homes in The Villages. After 6 months I realized that if I was going to work this hard every day and take the time I felt that every job needed to make it perfect… I had to start my own business.

I started Charlson Hadden Home Services and stayed fairly busy with a few slow periods here and there for several years. I learned an immense amount about the world of repaints and all the unforeseen occurrences that can come about when you’re painting a surface that wasn’t prepared or coated well by the previous painter, because of unknown residues on the existing paint, about different paint products and their effects, learning how to texture and how to properly prepare every surface before it is coated with any paint.

I took a break from painting in 2014 to teach elementary at the Montessori school in Mount Dora until mid 2017. During this time I only took on the occasional side jobs.

In mid 2017 I took the business no full time again. I jumped back in full swing and renovated an entire house in the south side of Leesburg; a full bathroom renovation, kitchen cabinets, tile, laminate wood flooring, replaced doors and jams, and painted the full interior and exterior. This gave me the jump start I needed to put my full attention into the business.

In January of 2018 I decided to take the business more seriously and create a corporation. Now we are OCD Painting and Flooring Inc. The name says it all. We get a lot of laughs and good feedback about our choice of name, but the reality is we both have a very fine attention to detail and we instill that in every one of our employees. We are still a small business and have 3 employees that work with us as a large crew or two small crews. This helps us maintain a familiar relationship with every customer.
